The NutSoc (Nutrition Society) of Livestock, Fisheries & Nutrition (FLFN), Wayamba University of Sri Lanka (WUSL) conducted a nutrition awareness session at Nattandiya MOH on 30th March 2022 in collaboration with the Primary Healthcare System Strengthening Project (PSSP) “Suwa Hamuwa” for more than 400 participants representing Nattandiya area.
NutSoc group consisted with six committee members participated in the programme including Professor Anoma Chandrasekara and Dr. Thushanthi Perera of the Department of Applied Nutrition, FLFN, WUSL. The team delivered awareness on healthy dietary and prevention and reduction of complications of NCDs with live demonstrations. The activity of preparation of a bowl of nutritious fried rice at home, highlighting the nutritional value of each ingredient drew the most attention of the participants.
